Tim Long: objects, films, exhibitions

Antonin Artaud gave a name to a hybrid form he called ‘subjectile’ something that was neither subject, nor object, but a combination of the two. The contradictory and challenging status of the subjectile is relevant to the objects I make, whether they are drawings, films, wooden objects, or digital hybrids, like my drawing machine. I am ambitious for the objects to be part of the world that moves in unspoken ways between the construct called the self, and the world of strange otherness that is non-self.
